A Concise History of Not Knowing What Concise Means

I thought I'd make a little database for Larehip's novellas that we all know and love. Feel free to use this thread to debate what conciseness truly is, and whether or not Larehip is (or maybe should be) using it appropriately.

I'll be updating the OP if any others pop up. And feel free to use this thread to post your favourite Larehipisms!

I think my favorite was the swastika one. That was pretty epic.

Goofle 12-26-2014 07:27 PM

The Blues one is my favourite. Loved every post.

I think he does a pretty good job. They are long for forum posts but there are probably multiple full length books on everything he posts about. Jans laughed at me in the atom bomb thread for saying his posts are always worth reading, but I think he covers a lot of info that people who are interested in the subject would enjoy reading.

I've only read a few so maybe I shouldn't have said "always", but I enjoyed the ones I read.

Lisnaholic 12-27-2014 05:12 AM

 It never occurred to me, but yes he does rather misuse the word "concise". If his threads were published in pamphlet form, his titles would be fine, but here on an internet forum, a more accurate title might be "The tl;dr history of jazz".

Anyway, his threads are great to use for reference; I like to dip into them, follow up on a clip or two and remind myself to return another day...

Here´s a great thread of his for example, and although it´s not a concise history, he still explains all you want to know about the topic, and also shares with us some intriguing autobiographical information:-

So please keep them coming LordLarehip and don´t misconstrue the affectionate humour in this thread, ok?

I haven't read them all either, but what I've seen has ranged from trying too hard to be controversial to genuine frothing at the mouth tinfoil hattery. That's why your comment made me laugh.

James 12-27-2014 01:45 PM

The music related ones are fantastic reads. The ones on other topics are horrible.

I was talking about the "info".

Lol.. we don't agree about anything. :banghead:

Trollheart 12-30-2014 11:28 AM

I once quite seriously and sincerely suggested he should write a journal. Never even replied to me. So he's a douchebag, plain and simple. No manners. **** 'im.
And his concise history of the world.

Trollheart being a jerk. News at 9!

Congrats on your balls! ;)

Plankton 12-30-2014 11:37 AM

Tries a bit too hard. It's kinda creepy, actually.

Cuthbert 12-30-2014 11:45 AM

Saw the atom bomb thread. The last post in it makes me laugh every time.

I don't think it makes me a jerk to say I'm annoyed that he hadn't even the courtesy or decency to reply to my post, even if it was only to tell me to **** off. I was serious and he just ignored me, so again I say, **** him. If that makes me a jerk then I am one.

Reminds me of a dad joke: "The taxi stopped with a jerk. The jerk got out and I got in." :D

Called him out for being kind of randomly hateful towards liberals, and from there the thread turned into a slugfest between Larehip and Batlord over whether we should let whales get hunted to extinction. Definitely the most eventful of Larehip's threads!

You're not supposed to say anything unkind. You're Trollheart, and I was only kidding.

You mean you were taken as a child and brainwashed into believing you were the incarnation of some dead dude? That sucks man.

DwnWthVwls 01-01-2015 04:33 PM

Here I was expecting a comment about how his cover is blow.

Starting off the new year pretty weak there.

The Batlord 01-01-2015 04:35 PM

Are you kidding? I've been waiting for a chance to slag off the Dalai Lama for a good long while now. I am pleased.

John Wilkes Booth 01-01-2015 07:33 PM

he reminds me of this insane friend i have in florida who believes in all that conspiracy ****. he's an interesting dude but he needs to learn to serve his insanity in smaller doses for people like me cause i can't be bothered to read pages of one dude's erratic mind spinning out of control.

DwnWthVwls 01-01-2015 07:45 PM

u cant serve conspiracy theory in small doses.. it's all built on a long history of instances and if u dont know where it originated than it makes even less sense than if u know.

I took 3 history classes with the same professor (PhD in American History) who openly admitted to being a part of the 9/11 truth committee, and all he taught was conspiracy starting back before WWII. It actually made me think about a lot of sh*t, and it was the most reasonable explanation for a lot of conspiracies I had ever heard. I still question a lot of it though.

Oriphiel 02-16-2015 09:41 AM

Just wanted to update this to give one last hurrah for Larehip. Good luck in the hospital.

The Batlord 02-16-2015 09:55 AM

Hopefully you get a nice new jacket to commemorate your stay!

Cuthbert 02-16-2015 10:01 AM

DwnWthVwls 02-16-2015 10:18 AM

Did he get banned or something?

Nah, we're pretty sure he's in a mental institution.
