Life on Music Banter

http://www.trollheart.com/lifeonearth.jpg
From an idea I explored in this week's Update Thread. Feel free to add yourself, or anyone else you wish to, and also to edit any entries that are made if you feel something has been left out or could enhance the entry. It is my fond hope that, in time, this thread will help future zoologists better understand the creatures that inhabit the Bantersphere and the dynamics that drive them.

https://aeschne.files.wordpress.com/...1/glaucus5.jpg
Genus: Trollheartus Longwindus Maximus

Habitat: Bedrooms, kitchens; occasionally ventures outside to gather provisions but will not remain outdoors long.

Characteristics: Touchy, prickly with a great sense of honour and responsibility. Caring and nurturing, but capable of great flashes of anger when crossed. Particularly deferential to the female of the species, or any species. Hardworking and dedicated to its task, the Trollheartus will diligently work on a project to the exclusion of all else, setting self-imposed deadlines it must meet.

Diet: Chocolate, fried food, shepherd's pie. Also sweets, crisps and fizzy drinks. Violently allergic to vegetables, will become physically sick if any are ingested and may in fact die.

Known deities worshipped: Genesis, Marillion, Tom Waits, Dan Fogelberg, Iron Maiden.

Mating habits: Unknown; shrouded in mystery

Interaction with other creatures: Usually pleasant and companionable, able to accept differing views but when challenged on its most deeply held beliefs may become argumentative, combative and snide. Will fight to the death for what it believes to be right. Also known to adopt a protective posture when any female (even one not of its own species) is threatened, despite its poor fighting abilities.

Behaviour: Likes to listen to progressive rock music, classical and AOR as ell as some Heavy Metal. Watches quite a lot of TV. Writes prodigiously, almost obsessively. Is prone to care for the weaker members of its species, especially its sibling. Can be often heard muttering or talking to itself.

Oriphiel 05-04-2015 05:33 AM

Phylum (:finger:): Buttlordius Minimus

Habitat: Attracted to bedroom windows.

Characteristics: A creature that was once a great scholar that yearned to gain knowledge. However, upon learning all that there was to learn, they went mad with the knowledge of the ages, and came to the realization that lechery is the ultimate expression of one who is hopeless before the void.

Diet: "Whatever you left sitting out on the counter last night. What was that, pizza? Tasted horrible. Please leave more."

Known deities worshipped: While the only being they worship is themselves, they have an affinity for various idols, such as Thor, Odin, Xena, Deadpool, etc.

Mating habits: "If God didn't want me to jerk off while watching TV, he wouldn't have given me two hands."

Interaction with other creatures: A powerful yet charming type of chaos ensues.

Behaviour: Beyond the lechery, they have remarkably few discernible patterns of behavior. To try to understand them is to gaze into the eyes of madness itself; what answers do you hope to find, when you can hardly find yourself?

Fun idea!

The latin name for a species consists of a generic (genus) name and a specific (species) name, so for Homo Sapiens f.ex, that would mean the species sapiens in the genus Homo.

Just mentioning it since you got "Genus" up there. I would suggest replacing it with "Species".

Yours sinclerely,

Um, you do realise this is supposed to describe an MB member, right? Just, I don't get who that is you're describing...

Ok cool.
Just so everyone knows:
1) You can do yourself or anyone else that isn't already listed, or edit someone who is listed to add stuff
2) You don't have to use only the headings I've put up; they were all I could think of but by all means use others if you come up with them
3) If you can get a cool picture to use, so much the better
4) Some people here have already been catalogued; see my Update Thread for details. Any incorrect names in that area will be amended by me.
5) If it's not clear who you're describing, put their name in brackets or give us some clue.

Well you're a tiny sea creature so I'm surprised you haven't written up an entry on yourself. Want me to do it? If you insist. Stay chooned!

In my defense, not half an hour ago I just taped up Spider-Woman and Deadpool posters on my door, to go along with my Marvel calender. I now crave more so that my door can be an unsightly shrine to my pathetic nerdiness.

Genus: Proggius Planktonius

Habitat: Isolated woodland areas with an abundance of bitchin' dirt bike terrain.

Characteristics: Takes on the role of parent, unlike many related species that take on more traditional gender roles. When not acting as a mother, it has a tendency towards oddly entrancing musical mating calls, which generally result in mixed results at attracting the opposite sex.

Diet: Riffs.

Known deities worshipped: Rush, Buckethead, and Joe Satriani.

Mating habits: Unwise.

Interactions with other creatures: Generally sociable, unless protecting its young from predatory scavengers.

Behavior: Intoxicated and prone to self-inflicted injury.

Genus: Burnious Downous

Habitat: Cold, snowy region where driveways are constantly being shovelled.

Characteristics: A caring, intelligent creature who has many abilities. Tends to spend a lot of time with her mate, involving regular coitus.

Diet: Serbians.

Known deities worshipped: Classical music.

Mating habits: Only with one mate but a very healthy sex life.

Interactions with other creatures: Social, considerate and entertaining to others.

Behavior: Unfortunately this creature is not out in her habitat of Music Banter very often. Tends to get distracted by her home life and coitus with her mate.

Fixed.

I tried, but you can't edit other people's posts... if a mod has absolutely nothing to do and wants to change "genus" to "species", have at it, otherwise they all have to remain as is. Tragedy ensues.

I think original artwork should be mandatory for this thread.

I think that's far too much work.

That would be great, but unless you can convince someone who can actually draw (WWWP?) then don't rely on me. I couldn't draw a bath. But you can find cool sometimes-relevant images if you look around. I do think an image of some sort should be included. If not, how are future scientists ever going to know what we poor, extinct bastards looked like?

^ You missed some things as well. For example, what about lone wolves being "often taciturn, and will distinguish themselves through their reserved nature."

Excuses, excuses. You expect me to wolf down that pack of nonsense? You must be howling mad. ;)

Stop hounding the man. I think you're being rather unfair, and should paws in your accusations. Perhaps you two should confur about the issue and come to some of agreement.
