Sorry to hear that mate.

One of my best friends Dad was an alcoholic. In fact he was more than that ,he was like an uncle to me. He always liked a drink but he slowly got worse & worse. Towards the end his wife left him & moved to the UK & he spant the last 2 years of his life alone. I remember me & a friend went around to see him on new years eve one year and he was so happy to have company he broke down & started crying.
Sadly he didn`t make it to the end of that year & died a week before Xmas just after his 42nd birthday.
I prey that things never get that bad for your sister.

DontRunMeOver 11-24-2006 05:59 AM

I hope she recovers soon Right-Track. How did the detox set off a liver problem? That's a really bad situation, trying to get better from something and it setting off a different horror.

MURDER JUNKIE 11-24-2006 10:38 AM

I know how you feel, my father in law is an alchoholic and everytime I see him he gets a little worse. He may have three years left in him, at a family function he will slug back 3/4's of a bottle of rye in just over an hour. It's horrifying to watch someone spontainiously combust like that.

Best wishes for your sister

right-track 11-24-2006 12:15 PM

Thanks to all with well wishes. :)

It's possible the problem was already there.
We've not had a clear explaination yet.
My mother was with her today and was too upset to ask the hospital.
My sister has been hallucinating badly.
The hallucinations are not uncommon during detox, among other symptoms.
The term 'septicimia' may be misleading. It may be more accurate to describe it as a form of septicimia...if there is such a thing. The hospital don't seem to be sure yet.
It maybe that the toxins in her have contaminated her blood, causing the above effects. Either way, she's not well at all.

My sister has been through detox many times. Never with such a severe reaction as this...it's extremely worrying.

About 5 years ago the same thing happened to her.
Only this time the consequences seem far more serious.
Our family Doctor even warned my parents about the possibility of brain damage.

tdoc210 11-24-2006 12:21 PM

^ =( im sorry right-track, i hope she gets better soon.

right-track 11-24-2006 12:25 PM

I'm sure she will.
I'm hoping the possibilities are just only that...possibilities.

Mama Booze 11-24-2006 12:28 PM

Best wishes right track :(

Today I played WoW, ate a sub(it was so yummy), got my guitar restrung the guy who did was really nice because I have a floyd on mine which means it takes a long time to restring. So while I was waiting I played almost everything making things dirty with my finger prints. I want a banjo they're so much fun. And I've decided I want to start a record label when I get out of high school.

Raine 11-25-2006 10:53 PM

thanksgiving dinner was a bust.
alex as a dessert was great.

I've spent the past few days in bed, borderline comatose.
I don't know what they put in the food but they may as well have put a mcdonald's sign outside the door. my heart stopped twice I think.

Merkaba 11-25-2006 11:36 PM

I had a huge weekend of training.

A big day long seminar on Saturday and grading was today, Sunday. Everyone who sat their test passed, I had to be partner for a dude who was going for his Nidan (2nd Black) and he pummelled the shit out of me. It's awesome doing an art where injuries are few and far between, yet somehow you're always coming close to, or maxing your body out everytime you get up train with someone.

Weekends like this are great, the feeling you have afterwards is awesome, it's being comfortably numb, one of the best feelings you can have.

I'm gonna sleep like a log tonight:D

DearJenny 11-26-2006 09:14 AM

Yesterday I worked 11-5 then ran home, washed my hair, got my **** together and sped down to Harpos Concert Theater for Blind Guardian concert! I'll make its own little post in rock/metal because it was THAT great. But that was yesterday. Today is recovery and boyfriend day.

Trauma 11-26-2006 09:05 PM

Went to a party yesterday, no one danced there, even with 100-some people crowded into a booming basement.
Watched a gun be pressed against someone's back.
So, left that party because the cops arrived, then went to another party with some girls.
Smoked a nickel and drank a 40, then chilled and talked with some girls for quite some time.
Left at 6 AM, went to bed.

Today I chilled at the house, went to the movies, then went to my girlfriend's house.
Good two days.

I still don't know why Raine is having my babies.

jibber 11-26-2006 11:18 PM

I woke up, walked to work in -20 cold. my legs were numb by the time i got there. and i live 5 blocks away. worked for 6 hours, took a break and got coffee at some point, then walked home (at this point it was probably about -25) which made my legs go numb again. yay canadian winters :P

DontRunMeOver 11-27-2006 04:48 AM

When I got into uni, some guy holding about 20 pamphlet-books (those 6 page stapled adverts) was standing by the entrance. I was walking in a crowd of people and he made a bee-line for me and thrust the pamphlet into my hands, saying 'clothes show'. I looked at the pamphlet and it was a very nice looking one for the Birmingham Clothes Show, then I stopped and looked around and noticed I was the only person he'd given one to...

Felt special, I did. Needless to say, I shaln't be attending. Felt kind of complimented that somebody who doesn't know me thinks I'm interested in fashion though.

adidasss 11-27-2006 08:01 AM

oh buurnn...that's like a total slap in the face....

MURDER JUNKIE 11-27-2006 08:12 AM

So here's the deal:

The company that I work for is doing a restructuring and half of the people that I work with are being let go, I am not one of them because much like here I am loved and admired by all. However, the shifts I work are going to be kind of screwy and I am only working four days a week. Thus I am going to have to get a part time job because I hate being home alone

Also I was told to stay the f*ck off the internet by my boss, which will seriously cut into my MB. He wasn't really pissed about it but I probably should stay off it for a while

Real life sucks

Alo 11-27-2006 08:29 AM

6 - woke up
7-9 - work
9-4 school

It's 4:30 pm now, and I'm bored!

Days like these make me love the Dutch weather. It's about 15 now, not a lot of wind, and no rain!

MoonlitSunshine 11-27-2006 10:49 AM

it's really windy here, and that makes it seem bloody freezing, but I doubt we're below freezing, even.

nah, its not too bad at all. actually i'm liking it because it's PUKING snow in the mountains, and since it's so cold it's nice and light. I have this weekend off work, so i'll be able to go skiing, when it's warmed up to nice skiing temperatures (-10ish) with rediculously good snow for this early in the season. WOOT WOOT!!! FIRST DAY OF THE SEASON THIS WEEKEND!!!! i'm stoked to test out my brand new shiny skis :D

Mama Booze 11-29-2006 07:39 PM

Meh I've had an awful few days, weeks, months, whatever - to be honest with you. But today my mother and I stood in the kitchen talking, well, she stood, I eventually came to sit on a counter swigging diet pepsi from the bottle... but we discovered while sharing malted milk balls that there are 47 different kinds of coca-cola.
Coke
Coke Classic
New Coke (yes there's a difference between coke and new coke)
Coke with lemon
Coke with lime
Coke with splenda (yes, it's different from diet)
Vanilla Coke
Cherry Coke
Vanilla Coke with lime
Vanilla coke with lemon
Diet Coke
Diet coke with lemon
Vanilla diet coke
Vanilla diet coke with lime
Cherry diet coke (yes they have that, though it's tremendously rare.)
and there are more but I was kind of out of it when we were speaking. But it's all those in Classic and New and they have more flavors as well. And as we spoke I wrote these down on some kind of phone bill or something, it was quite hysterical actually.

dirt mcgirt 11-29-2006 07:45 PM

yo son, woke up this mornin and found there was a tommy gun in my ass. it spat hot fudge bullets at the pan and i released the whole clip in about 4 seconds. unfortunately it took about 14 minutes to clean up the aftermath. guess dats what you get fo orderin yo curry extra spicy.
