Today I helped my supervising teacher from my university write a whole bunch of reports for her year 2 class. Then I had a whole bunch of parents complain that I'm not qualified or old enough (age discrimination much?) to be helping write reports of their children. If I'm not allowed to start anywhere, how am I supposed to learn anything?! Student teaching sucks balls sometimes.

Maybe this should be in a bitch box.

Eh, **** the kids.

I love the kids, **** the parents! lol...

really? i know kids that are TAs that took the class they're teaching a semester beforehand. and not just people offering help -- they can be the graders and the lab assistants as well.

I know. Which is why I can't understand parents complaining. I have full responsibility over certain classes and can be teaching them for up to 5 weeks at a time without assistance. I do know what I'm doing... (most of the time, ha!)

The reason why I was only 'helping out' this time was because I actually had to defer this semester of university due to being sick and in hospital... but I thought since I'm better I would go into school and help out my supervising teacher to get some more experience with grading and stuff, just to get more teaching hours up/ experience etc.

Parents just suck and are really condescending when you're a young teacher/ student teacher. And I don't even get paid one cent for this crap! Ugh.

Yeah. Don't go into teaching. /rant :)

Work today consists of shoveling around 4 tons of stone. It's 20 degrees but very windy. Wind chill: 7. The stone keeps freezing. We're waiting to get the next load of stone

I had my last class of the semester last night and as it turns out I don't have to work today either. A nice feeling after eleven weeks of full time work and school. My plans today consist of sitting on my ass doing nothing. Right now I'm sitting in my living room watching Judge Pirro and surfing the web. Life is good.
