It was all in English, but with a strong Irish accent.
These people have no racial affiliation with Romanies whatsoever, they're indigenous to Ireland and give Gypsies a bad name, as do other non Romani traveller types.
Most of my life I kept my heritage quiet because of the stigma attached.
It wasn't until I educated myself over the last few years and learned the difference between Romany/Gypsy and other traveller groups in this country did I feel comfortable with who I am.
The ignorance of some people is staggering and because of it I've been made to feel wrongly embarrassed all that time about my roots.

A very strange thing happened to me today. I know I tend to mimic things I find interesting, like some look, expression or accent. It just pick it up subconsciously. Today, after watching some Ellen Degeneres stand ups, I just found myself talking and joking like her, but of course in Arabic. It's still creepy.

I'll see how long this new personality's gonna last... Hopefully not enough to make the people around me freak out.

I shall! I think I'll stay silent for the evening. Though it did help me make fun of my parents, it was like someone else is commenting on them. However, I think that's more of a symptom of the Multiple Personality Disorder. Still bad.

Threw a BYOB Jersey Shore party at my apartment last night, drank far too much, got shitfaced and now I feel seven different kinds of awful. I really need to stop blacking out every time I drink, there are only snatches of my night that I can remember.
