Today, I took a Microbiology test. Afterward, I smeared Staphylococcus aureus on an agar plate and put antimicrobial tablets on it. Results on Thursday.

I love making bacterial cultures. It's like Christmas when you go in to check on them...

That was nerdy.

I love it, too. Ooh! And looking at things under a microscope! I learned how to prepare slides for staining, how to make a gram stain and how to make an acid-fast stain last week! I pray for my lab partner to not come to class so I can do it all on my own. So selfish.

Congrats mojo. :D

yesterday, I went to see stereophonics. They were amazing. He started laughing halfway through a song, some girl who had been following them since 1996 had tried to climb the barrier. She got put out. A guy and girl standing in front of me were completely out their box on ecstasy, nobody was really dancing much but these clowns were fist pumping and everything, it was funny. Then I had an old couple almost shagging, just to the right of me it was gross. It was a real good night though, beer kept getting thrown which is normal but I was pissed off because I was sober . 8.5/10

I never felt so overwhelmed with sadness in my life. It wasn't something in particular, I just felt broken.
The weather was all gloomy, the air seemed polluted and intoxicating, I broke my cellphone, my car seemed like it was having some kind of problem, I spent 3 hours on the road, in traffic and for no apparent reason, and finally, the person I was supposed to interview vanished (I loathe him, and I haven't met him yet).
All this, from 9AM till 1PM.

My body was actually aching, I was so beat up emotionally.

At 3 o'clock, I began to feel better though, then I became overly chirpy.
I just hope tomorrow works out for me, I really need to finish that project already.

Today I was woken up way too early. Then, I had a lot of time to kill, so I drove a 120 mile loop on backwood state routes, just for the hell of it. Then I went to my therapist's appointment. Then I came home and went to sleep.

today is my birthday. it started very early with my cat going nuts in his litter box around 5am. he usually doesn't start up until 6.

then i got up and came to work. it was pretty uneventful until my coworkers surprised me with a cake and a bottle of champagne. very cool.

i also discovered some great new music today, and managed to find an album i've been after for a few months. nice.

after work i will head home and relax for a bit, then go into the city to meet my wife. after dinner we'll go see Alice in Wonderland which premieres tonight.

not a bad day at all ;)

Happy bday good sir. Sounds like a solid day... I like birthdays that are entertaining in their simplicity- a music discovery, dinner, and a movie. Cheers, mate!

Received my midterm grade for one of my courses; I got a fucking 84. Damn near everyone else received A's. I blame myself for not cheating like most of the class (the professor was seldom in class, pretty much allowing us to cheat). :banghead:

This is the lowest grade I've received in graduate school thus far.

It's good that you didn't cheat, you shouldn't feel bad about that.
It might not be the grade that everyone else received, but it's most likely a grade far above the ones everyone else actually deserved.
Keep your head up high and strive for more A's.
