I appreciate but I’m never teaching again. I’d rather clean timeshare salemen’s *******s with my tongue.

Frownland 03-02-2018 03:32 PM

You can teach Chinese children how to swear though

According to the reports I get from the power company he's using 10x that of the other households in my neighborhood. (One friend cautioned me that the feds are probably watching me thinking I'm growing or something.) He agreed to pay for his usage above and beyond my routine bill before he moved in and at present his balance is about $750. (I really hope he doesn't stiff me.)

He's been actively looking for a job and had a few promising interviews so I'm fairly confident he'll be able to comply with the 60-day notice I gave him.

Again, I'm looking at the coming spring as a clean slate / fresh start. I'm going to make the best of it.

The Batlord 03-02-2018 04:46 PM

$750? Dude, he's totally gonna stiff you.

I didn’t have the heart to say it.

The Batlord 03-02-2018 05:02 PM

And he owes him another $600 for rent? No way on earth is he seeing $1350 from some guy who doesn't have a job and lives in some other guy's house.

innerspaceboy 03-02-2018 05:22 PM

He owes $500 a month in rent (likely for March and possibly April), plus $750 for electric to date, plus whatever electric he uses for the remainder of his stay. I understand he'll also need money for his first month's rent and security deposit when he moves out.

He does have "access" to funds - his entire family are lawyers and he has several million in retirement investments, I just don't know the practical liquidity of those assets. He may borrow from family.

We're on good terms and he has kept his word as long as I've known him. He says that he'll take care of his debts. The electric bill balance is due in just under 30 days so time will tell.

While I'm not counting on it, I'm at least hopeful. That's all I can do at this point.

Dafuq?
You need to have a serious talk with this ****er.

There’s **** you can do. You could probably just call his mom. You value his friendship but do you really want to be his friend if he’s going to do you like that? I bet he’d get the money if it was a gambling debt or he needed bail. If he’s embarrassed to hit up his family he needs to get over it. That money represents a lot of your time. **** being nice.

He’s playing you for a fool son. You should be the one ****ing him not vice versa.

Get you money and some for your trouble too. Take his bitch ass to court if need be.

You mean on tv court or like actually ****ing her?

innerspaceboy 03-02-2018 05:53 PM

Thanks, everyone. I'm giving him the opportunity to keep his word. Closer to the due date of the electric bill I'll have another serious talk with him if he hasn't produced the money. He's been actively job hunting and aced the first and second interview so he's on the right track.

In a worst-case scenario, I will opt for small claims court, but I'm hopeful it won't come to that. I'm being patient but will not overextend myself to my own detriment. (At least no more than I already have.)

I'll let you know how everything works out.

Walked through our old home for the last time today. Had to inspect the renovations with the realtor. They did an amazing job! New rugs, new paint, new hardwood, and a bunch of little improvements (light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, etc.)

Check it out here:

OccultHawk 03-02-2018 11:32 PM

So now you just need someone to buy the place, huh?

Are you going to keep living there in the meantime?

It seems like the order of things would be sell the house first by the Winnebago 2nd...

It's complicated. Once you're done with "War and Peace" let me know and I'll give you all of the details. :p:

The way we went with the $$ help of the realtor and my family (my daughter and stepmom fronted me the cash to buy the Winnebago and the realtor is paying for all of the renovations. We'll pay them all back once the house sells) will get us most net cash once the smoke clears.

OccultHawk 03-03-2018 04:23 AM

Cool

I hope it sells soon and you get your asking price and something goes my way as well.

You should go pawn his tv and tell him a black male did it.

I’m working on a sexual harassment porn site called #metoo(horny)

Week from hell.

(Received news of another family member being close to death. I haven't even seen her in years, but it was just.. Too much death for one month. Hopefully I can go see her in San Diego while she's still alive.
Drank a lot. Got sick, again, and naturally thought I was dying. It was merely a sinus infection, but that didn't stop me from panicking and spiraling.
In the midst of all this, I kept getting roped into exhausting and never-ending conversations with an ex in the name of "closure"-- most of my exes live here now, unfortunately-- who I had mistakenly thought was over me and moved on. Finally just threw my hands up and barricaded myself in my room in the dark and slept for a very, very long time. But I'm finally eating and sleeping like a normal human being again, so there's that.)

Everything's fine now, though. Mostly. Have an interview tomorrow at a preschool.

Sorry to hear that, Chio. Wish things would turn around for you. Hope the interview goes well. Tip: don't wear your ghost-hunting kit.
Best of luck!

I work from home. Have for over 2 years now. My new place is only about a 45 minute drive from the kids, sans traffic.

Chio, chin up girl. Not sure how old you are but trust me, life will never stop slinging **** your way. You'll get better at catching it as the years go by. Again, trust me on this.

Need to settle in and let the smoke clear first. Checked out Oakzanita Springs (elv: 4,000 ft.) today. AWESOME. In the middle of nowhere surrounded by mountains and valleys. I'll have free electricity, water, and sewage. My site has a fire pit and a picnic table and Verizon has great coverage in the area.

Glad I got a walking stick because level ground is an alien thing in these parts.

I've met them before, Bat, they exist. Sadly, but surely. They exist in the world where **** bands with terribly fake deep lyrics and aesthetically driven ideas thrive. With juggalos and people like juggalos.

Also, I looked up the band that made that "stop the war on filth" shirt I guess they are a local band in SLC which makes sense since a lot of the straight edge crowd that listens to that music hates juggalos. I got so many stories about the straight edge vs. juggalo stuff AKA the cringe wars that I can share.
