Thanks to all of you guys re: the girl situation. I'll...figure it out. But seriously, thanks a lot. Means a lot to me.

Today, I've spent the past little while making videos of acting. And putting them on youtube. As private videos, for they are not to be seen. BUT it feels much better being able to watch them back and see what I need to work on - I'm one of the weird actors who likes to watch myself back. It's not for vanity; it's for improvement. I'm super, super, super critical of my performance.

^^the complete antithesis of James Taylor then

who never listens to what he recorded, watches his own taped performances, and sees himself in a movie (2 Lane Blacktop)

Serious question: If they're ust for you to see, why do you put them up on youtube?

Because I've had so much trouble with computers and am tired of losing my files over and over again...because twice my hard drive has been unsalvageable. So I put everything I write, record, or video online in a private format that I still have super easy access to whenever I want it...so I don't lose it again.

... meaning you have no control over it at all.
Maybe some day youtube goes 'let's charge you for youtube' and then you've lost your files.
How about an external HD? :)

No, I mean, I back everything up all to hell - I save it on my hard drive, put it in various places...a lot of times put stuff on Facebook, etc. so that only I can see it.

It's kind of ridiculous.

And I've had an external hard drive which just decided to stop working one day, and I messed up getting the files off of it and lost half of my stuff. So I prefer to just do it in my own, bizarre, convoluted way.

Hahaha, you have to put your files on the external drive AND on your primary drive, obviously; When your external drive crashes, you immediately buy a new one and copy the files from your primary drive. When your primary drive crashes, you'll have everything on your external drive.
The stuff that really means a lot to me (pics and mails/chatlogs, mainly) I also store on DVD's. Safe :D.
