I had a very cathartic day. I realized this morning that I'd been neglecting my inner quiet for a few weeks. Not listening. For the last 3-4 days, I've been a bit short with people and a bit combative, even with some folks in here, taking unwarranted pokes at them. That's not who I am, and I apologize. Compared to some of the all out battles that go on in here, it doesn't seem like much, but to me it is.

Anyway, as I was saying, I pinpointed the reason I'd been...not myself. So, I was very fortunate that today was a holiday, so I was at work by myself for 8 hours, and had time to delve into my quiet and look around. It was very settling, like going back into your old room or something.

I feel very peaceful right now. I will smudge later this evening, to complete the cleansing.

Do I want to know what smudge is?

And what job do you have that makes you come in on a holiday?

I had school and I live in America I never realized how much of the traffic on the way to school is people going to work. I had poptarts and chocolate milk for breakfeast. The only good part about first is that my friend sits like 2 rows from me and we get to talk. In band since we had our concert on friday we had to move everything back to where it's suppose to be and that wasnt fun. I have exams on friday and then monday. I got exempt from 3rd and 4th woot woot. I have to play at graduation the saterday that follows and then I have band camp the monday that follows that. My brother's feeling sick again I hope it's nothing major like before I'd hate for him to have to spend part of the summer in the hospital, that would be horrible. He's graduating this year and in the fall going to NCState to become an engineer.

Smudging is a Native American custom. Burning sweetgrass, or sage, immersing yourself in the smoke to cleanse any impurities from your spirit. It's very gratifying. Usually I meditate afterwards.
