I'm going with David Sedaris logic. When I was born I was allowed a certain number of cigarettes I could smoke in my lifetime. I just so happened to be an assh*le that smoked them all by age 26. Now I'm done. We'll see how this one works out.

Pulled a thorn out of my foot today, holy **** it was in deep, on the sole of my foot. And my feet are very well calloused as well, so it was hard to find it once it was in. I was walking around the garden barefoot, through the foliage, followed by 5 dogs, a black cat, and our ****ing weirdo of a hen. it went in so deep that I was not sure if there was actually a thorn in there for a while, only the pain made me aware of it.
