I feel your pain. There is no one at my work who can do more than basic small talk, and if they can, it's not very interesting. I'd prefer they just say nothing. I guess that's kind of "jerky," but I'd rather be with my music on my breaks than do the basic, "...eh, only x amount of time left, aye?"
