Mike turned 28 today. I'm 56.

This is the last time I'll be at least twice as old as one of my kids. Pretty sure this is a good thing. Right?

Uneventful. Always a good thing when it comes to him.

The bad: Just got out of the hospital with a severe corneal abrasion and really terrific pain. I'm practically blind for the next few days.

The good: The Spoon remaster of Can's Soon Over Babaluma just landed on my doorstep.

All in all a great day.

Oh no! How on earth did that (the corneal abrasion) happen?

Eat a dick Austria and Hungary. We just drove through about 200 kilometers of absolutely terrifying fog.
I never would have thought that fog can cover such a huge stretch of land.

Don't you insult my empire. I rule over it and will not tolerate insults.

You should visit the Central Valley in California. They literally have some of the densest fog in the world.

I was forced to do birthday things today (I am now nearly as old as the Baba Yaga), so naturally I went to the antique mall (I already went the other day, but I needed to reinspect certain things-- typewriters mostly). I would have liked to go to a jazz club tonight, however, now I think I'd prefer to just eat pizza in solitude while watching episodes of Jem. It's not certain yet. There wasn't any cake, so that's unfortunate.

I took some photos of some of the more... unfortunate items I discovered at the antique mall; (and I should mention, most things there are not even remotely antique!!! And don't even get me started on the gaudy 1960s glassware, cowboy boot vases and OVER ONE HUNDRED enormous decorated wall crucifixes, which I suppose they have to keep stocked in case anyone momentarily forgot they were in Texas--god forbid!) here you go:

Troll head roller skates (everyone's favorite understated accessory) :
Spoiler for ...:

An extremely uncomfortable-looking child's rocking chair, or The Punishment Chair (because little Johnny needs a place to sit and contemplate his sins) as I like to call it:
Spoiler for ...:

A totally normal, definitely-not-cursed doll (if you look directly into its eyes, all of your crops will die) :
Spoiler for ...:

And a spiderman birdhouse, because that's clearly what my future 1920s boudoir needs :
Spoiler for ...:

Their clothing selection is always shameful; it's 80% early 1970s things-- no 1950s dresses in sight! They had one single Edwardian era dress which I'm in dire need of-- and they really ought to just give it to me for free on account of all of my terrible, terrible suffering in their store.

I may possibly post something in the member photo thread later seeing as I took eighteen thousand different outfit pictures.
