Actually I came here to grumble about my day yesterday:
Has anyone else noticed how any job description that mentions "responsibility" means that you`re expected to put in hours of unpaid overtime ?

I was obliged to spend about three hours yesterday writing a document, but because, two weeks down the line, my computer is still being repaired I had to do the work in an internet cafè. So when I was finally done, I realised that I was paying out of my own pocket for the privilege of working for nothing. :(

I think I'm going to go to Bed, Bath, & Beyond today and get a few things for the kitchen. I want to install a wall-mounted bottle opener, create some kind of spice rack, and get a knife block. With these three things my life will be so much easier.

In a manner of speaking, yea.
Don't worry, that sh*t is completely survivable. So what are the details?

Anyway, I'm ending my day with a 6 pack of Killian's while I wait on my clothes to wash. Looking forward to work tomorrow. Finally I can get started on my server project.

Well I went to a friend cottage for a few days, and met this incredible girl. Its like any girls I meet where I am either bore the **** out of me, cant hold a good conversation or are just bad people. We both realized since we live in different states not even close to each other we would probably never see each other again but its just sad cause I have really only met 1 other girl in my life that I liked spending time with as much and I messed that up. There are a few girls I could call but I really would only do it out of hornyness/loneliness and most likely not talk to them again the next day.

THen I came home and found my downstairs neighbor dead in his kitchen. Now there are police firemen and emts all around my apartment. What a day. Thanks for asking though Freebase it feels nice to actually type it out, I have been ****ing bummed all day.

Holy ****. Now it would just be pretty insensitive to tell you that this thing with the girl you just met isn't love, so I wont. Damn. So you normally go into your downstairs neighbor's house uninvited? Or did you guys have a deal worked out where you could come and go as you please?

I'm just trying to piece this together.

No man you are right I know its not love. But I am sure you have had something similar happen to you, where you met someone amazing and knew you only had a short limited amount of time and that was it.

We hadnt seen him in a few days and knocked on his door. Found his keys lying in the screen and door unlocked so the landlord and I went in and he was in the kitchen on the flood. I am not sure if it was a suicide or his health, I didnt want to ask while so many people were there.

On a brighter note hows things with you man? I havnt been around the forums lately and havnt really seen what anyone was up to.

I've definitely had my share of short-lived infatuations. Now days, not so much. At the moment, I'm mostly focused on me. Everyone else can pretty much f*ck off until I'm done.

Ah. Well that has to be a pretty intense event, the whole finding your neighbor dead and all. I don't care what anyone says or thinks, it affects you. You'll be fine, though.

As far as me, I've recently landed a job as a systems/network administrator at a logistics software development company. Great perks and pay, and it's a very chill atmosphere. That's basically the focus of my life now, beside saving for a downpayment on a house. I couldn't be happier at this point, until I buy a house. Then I'll be golden.
How you been, apart from the recent developments? There has to be something good you can float my way! :)

Thats cool man, a good job is a great thing to have. Nothing is worse than waking up and dreading going to work. Perhaps you should look into foreclosers. With the economy being **** so many are had super cheap.

And one good thing you may like being a military man is a just got my first 1911. The thing is incredible. I dont know if you have ever fired one since you were probably trained with a Beretta but it is one sweet shooter.

Yea, I absolutely love my job. It's basically 70 percent better than I had expected it to be. The other 30 percent is just waiting for sh*t to get hairy so I can see how the company reacts.

Oh, and I'm jealous of your 1911. Never fired one. And I wasn't trained with any pistol in the Army, just assault rifles and things like that. Usually only officers have a pistol as a sidearm.
I've fired them though, elsewhere. So far my favorite is the Desert Eagle 50 cal. The Baby Eagles are nice too. I own a 9mil semi, but it's nothing special. Just home defense. I definitely want to shoot a 1911 though. Those things are f*cking legendary.
So jelly!

Plankton 10-08-2012 09:35 AM

Finding a dead person, no matter where it is, will leave a chill.

Now, I have to go look up a 1911... I never fired one either. Only M16A1's, LAW's, and 60's. But, I can work a P-38!

Exo 10-08-2012 01:52 PM

So I had an inspection today in a house I haven't been in before and I was in the basement taking pictures of a few things when I notice a "bar" in the corner. I went to see if there was any good loot over there and saw this...

I've never been creeped out as much as I was in that house. There wasn't much else to look at which is why I only have that video, but the whole house gave me a crazy vibe. I was very anxious until I got out of there. I never get like that.

LoathsomePete 10-08-2012 02:33 PM

Haha I kept on expecting the mannequin heads to be rearranged or something.

My little sister turned 13 today and one of her friends came over and we were talking about old shows and I asked him about the Amanda Bynes show. He said he's never heard of it in his life. Made me feel old

That... is extremely creepy. There are several perfectly good, logical explanations for those wigs but all I can imagine is that they aren't wigs.

I remember people saying that that game sucked, but about an hour into the game, I didn't know how I'd ever lived without the grappling hand thing.

The techniques for a DMC game do surpass its predecessors. The grappling hand attacks were fun for Nero (even though I prefer Dante, his range of weapons are pretty awesome). The story is quite a bore though, and the church/woods part is extremely annoying.

I kinda appreciated the main music theme to be somewhat doom metal though.

Frownland 10-09-2012 09:37 PM

Ever had such a good jam session that you're utterly exhausted and will probably be sore tomorrow? Yeah, I just had one of those. My day has improved tenfold since the broken iPod discovery.

Aaaaand my favorite call ever: A very old woman, who could not understand that I was with US Cellular. She kept yelling at me that I couldn't repossess her car, because she "sold that piece of ****, so there! Take that! Repossess it from THEM!" After five times of telling her I was from US Cellular, a cell phone provider, she yelled at me, "Honey, I got a cell phone! You taking that too, huh? My Honda and my phone? Lawd, you a bounty hunter?" I had to mute the call because I was cry laughing.

I did end up having to escalate that call, but I dealt with so much bull**** today from customers, it felt good to laugh.

Yeah, he's just Kenny G right now.

Note: I couldn't remember Kenny G's name, so I just typed "****ty smooth jazz" into Google, and it came right up.

I have to be Mr. Bean for my senior skit tomorrow. So I have to do this dance in front of every freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior:

Exo 10-11-2012 04:46 PM

So I'm going to start documenting my exploration of vacant houses. I'm going to try to film as soon as I get in the house that way whatever is on camera is the first time I've seen it as well. Also, let me know if you want me to just post the videos here or if I should make a thread for it...

So this ended up being just an empty house. It was near the end of my day so I didn't have a lot of patience to explore it in detail but there wasn't much inside. The basement was the highlight and if you pause it a couple seconds after I went down you can see a very oddly placed toilet amidst all the basement creepiness. There were a lot of cobwebs down there so I didn't stay long.
