I think it's pretty arrogant to bring a sentient being into this world without their consent and then force them to go through life because they think it'd be nice to have a kid.

I only value planet Earth insofar as we're here to be able to care about it.

And for all the shortcomings of human beings, they are by far the species the most capable of compassion and selflessness. I don't romanticize animals too much, although I respect them as living things.

Doesn't even matter to me. Anyone who regrets to be alive are free to end themselves.

Is that the choice you're giving to people? Go through the hell of a life they can't stand or go through the hell of finally giving in to pure self-loathing and putting a gun in their mouth? That's fair? That's humane? That's justifiable?

I'm pretty sure most people, given that choice, prefer being alive. So yeah, that justifies bringing new people into the world. Statistically speaking, they're likely to be happier about it than not.
