That's great! Your enthusiastic ravings are always endearing

When I listen to them it’s such a flood of emotion

Besides Coltrane which in such a different universe of feelings

But there’s this abrupt feeling I get when I listen to the Ramones and it’s way more profound than any other band

The love I feel for their music is among the most powerful things I’ve ever felt

Honestly don’t have the words

That's fascinating. I love the Ramones a lot, and I think that in a certain way they are perfect, but they emotions they invoke in me aren't nearly as strong as that

I met them, with Dee Dee, when I was 12, at a record signing

it was like straight out of rock’n’roll high school

everything about them was so cool

it was life changing

I’m so grateful I got to see them live

And I still have that autographed record on my wall

I’d die of starvation before I sold it

That's so cool. I'm listenting to them right now and what I like most about them is that they have these brilliant hooks and riffs, often out of nowhere, that keep taking you by surprise. Even when you know their songs well you're still like 'damn how did they some up with that?!'

Edit: Well, that and Joey's voice

Great four days of music. Really great hangin with the Frown.
We laughed a lot and had a great time whenever we met up.
Music, music, music... (and films and talks). Of course, couldn’t
see everything we wanted to, but it’s a good “problem” to have.

Saw: three films of Beatrice Gibson, Oren Ambarchi,
Yunohana Variations (YoshimiO, Susie Ibarra,
Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe), Moor Mother, Joan LaBarbara,
Alvin Lucier, Code Girl, Stephen O’Malley,
The Comet Is Coming, Larry Grenadier, Tomeka Reid,
Columbia Icefield, Thumbscrew, Carla Bley
w/ Andy Sheppard & Steve Swallow, This Is Not This Heat,
Jack DeJohnette w/ Ravi Coltrane & Matt Garrison,
Makaya McCraven, Sons of Kemet, Roscoe Mitchell
w/ Junius Paul & Hugh Ragin, Wadada Leo Smith
w/ Bobby Naughton & Dwight Andrews, and finishing off
with what was billed as The Art Ensemble of Chicago
but was more like the AACM Large Ensemble.

Frown: another restaurant we need to go to is the great “Yassin’s“
when we meet up again next year.
