there are alternatives, though, right?

If you're ****ed financially if you get sick or hurt WITH the insurance, I'd almost rather not pay them a monthly fee to not give a sh*t about me when I'm sick.

I tried insurance and almost went broke trying to find out what a rash was on my leg. $50 here, $100 there for a copay and like $1500+ a month just for the coverage. The doc kept 'forgetting' things too, so he had to reschedule, which was more fuken co-payments. Just dump me off at a leper colony or something.

I told my parents, who are beautiful angels, that I am NOT paying $350 a month on top of my other bills to have the privilege to pay $1500 in the case I have to stay in the hospital one night. I told them that's like paying the mob protection money when you have no enemies. They refused to allow me to have no health insurance and I told them, "well, that's how it is", so now they pay for my insurance. I'm lucky. There are millions of people who don't have loving parents like I do and I'm grateful for that. It still bothers me to no end how our health care system is so terrible but I always feel like my voice is not the right one to hear when I'm covered by two people who love me.
