My dad and I decided to wait. She's having a very good time and they don't see us often. This woman, while also being a good friend, also went through cancer treatment with my mom. She was a driving force in getting my mom through treatment. This news is going to CRUSH her. They haven't talked much this year. I don't even think she knew her cancer cane back. We decided to give my Mom tonight and tomorrow to have as much joy as she can before the rug gets ripped out. Tough call, but it's the one we made.

I'm hurt. I can't help but sit there and think that in two days my mother is going to be in serious pain. It's eating at me all night. She keeps wondering why something is off with me. I guess I'm not hiding it well.

Sigh.

That's really ****, Exo, but look at it this way: you haven't made the decision on your own, so you know at least one other person feels the same way you do and supports the decision. And you're doing your best not to ruin your mom's Christmas. Sure, the tears will come later, too soon in fact, but she deserves some happiness before that, even if it is the "ignorance is bliss" variety. FWIW I think you're doing the right thing.
