I had been thinking to myself recently i need to take it to a shop just in case to get it checked out just cause it makes weird noises sometimes and I'm not used to driving a stick shift. I was gonna take it in next friday/Saturday after i get paid.

So when i went to take my friend home it was dead. We jump started it and i dropped him off thinking i had just left the lights on. No such luck. On the way back from his place it stalled out in like 2nd /3rd gear. It was completely dead and i have no cables on me. Middle of the night. This redneck couple saw me and helped me push it up an incline so i could start it by dumping the clutch. I didn't know you could do that. I was grateful cause it was only a matter of time before a cop came across me and then I'd be ****ed. I gave them like an 8th and some cigs as a reward. Got the car home but now it's dead again. Prolly won't have a car for at least a week. People are saying it sounds like the alternator.

**** bro, that sucks. How you gonna get to work?

having not had a car for a good 2-3 years before i got this one, i really understand how valuable it is

Like, not having a car in Rhode island was not even that big of a deal, though it was kinda bummy. But i could get around using buses and ****.

Not having a car in south Florida or Greensboro nc was a pain, the public transport is crappy but it does exist. Extra bummy not having a car down there though

But not having a car here in Statesville? You're ****ed lol. Might as well be a non entity.

I do enjoy driving though... That is when I'm not in traffic getting agita from the slow driving locals...

At this point in my life i feel like I'd want a car regardless of where I'm at but it's life or death around here for sure

Why?

adidasss 09-13-2021 03:20 AM

Because of the next sentence I guess?

Trollheart 09-13-2021 05:17 AM

But he's hardly going to search him for drugs without due cause is he? I mean, he's going to see a WHITE guy trying to get his broken-down car off the road. He's not immediately going to think "better see if he has any banned substances on him" is he now? I guess if he were black, maybe that might be the cop's first thought, but for a white man? Doubt it. Unless jwb means he would lose it with the cop (not being known for his patience) and bring the search upon himself? Or is he just being overly paranoid?

jadis 09-13-2021 05:20 AM

Yeah, what I'm getting at is "can police search your car/your person at will"?
