Some folks photograph their children... others their pets... me? I have over 3000 staged images cataloged and indexed of all my favorite records.

My insurance company must hate me.

My laptop has been in the shop since Monday and I found out the bad news that it just has to be reformatted. Which I could do myself if I had a thumb drive and another rig to get the software from Toshiba onto it. Makes me wish I had followed through on my big talks to build my own gaming rig. I will definitely work on getting the parts now over the next two months. Missed out on some great sales for parts this weekend though.

I use an umbrella and a desk lamp for indirect light when I feel like getting fancy for photos, you might want to try the umbrella technique out.

I appreciate the tip. Unfortunately, the only lamps in my home are Victorian area fringe shade parlor, desk, and floor lamps, none of which offer much in the way of illumination.

I live a lonely, sheltered life... plotting... scheming...

Curious whether or not the umbrella technique would work with something as powerful as the 500W work lamp. I'd just rather not set it alight.

At the very least it would be one hell of a story while explaining it to the firefighters.

Officer: What happened?

ISB: Well, you see, it all started in London in 1998. But they weren't Lemon Jelly then... it was just Fred spinning odd choons from the Edinburgh easy listening club Going Places that he ran with Murray McKean and Andy Blundel in the late nineties. But those wouldn't surface until a decade later after swamp picked up a cassette of it and posted it to the Jellyforum...

Is Friday Night Magic a thing in Japan?

Couldn't tell you how it'd work with the work lamp, but it's commonly used with professional lighting equipment that normally run at about 600 W.

Interesting. I'd probably need a proper base / stand for the unit as it currently just clips to a surface. But I'll look into it. Thanks again.
