No snooker tables in pubs mate. Just pool, no pool table in my local ones though, have to go into the city centre for those.

Basically instead of two sets of balls there is just one but you need to alternate between a red and a colour. Different colours are worth between 2-7 points with the red being worth one. A 'break' is the points total you get in a potting sequence. Red, black, red, black, red, blue, red, pink, red = 30 points. The highest possible break is worth 147 points, here is Ronnie doing it in just over 5 minutes. The winner of the frame is the one with the most points when the table is cleared, though players will often concede if it's not mathematically possible to score enough points to level without requiring 'snookers' (forced errors basically).

tl;dr - Snooker is better, harder and a bit more complicated.
