Coincidentally, I quit my job today.

I did the rounds saying goodbye to my coworkers and everybody over 30 was like goddamn that sounds nice. I wish I thought of that years ago.

Decent payout with profit sharing, vacation days, etc, I could live a thrifty (=no fun) lifestyle for 3 months. If my student loan deferment is approved, that's 6 months. Hunting for jobs all the while but I'm also going to try out some domain jacking and a website idea I'll share with y'all once I develop the site (maybe). The fear is still there but I thought I had way less cushion, so that's pretty liberating. This is basically a surprise summer vacation that will be kicking off with seeing Sun Ra's Arkaestra led by Marshall Allen on Monday (at my 2nd fave venue Zebulon Cafe) and This Is Not This Heat (at my fave venue Regent DTLA) on Thursday on trips I paid for back in February.

All that sounds pretty awesome. I told this to OH before, but FlexJobs is really good at finding stuff that doesn't require you to have to sit in an office all day but still has pay/benefits and all that. Check them out sometime.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

Sounds familiar, I'll check it out. Though I'm going after a lot of local stuff/stuff in the western region, my focus has been on remote work. I've got really good friends across the state and country, so I want to nomad around and room with them (while chipping in on rent) for 1-2 months each while working remote.

@elphenor is this an appropriate degree of oversharing

Do you have any data on what percent of their clients are placed because paying them anything upfront doesn’t sit well with me on principle.

Wait, does flexjobs require a fee to join as a recruit/employee or something? That's 150% a scam.
