Yeah that's just arse.

What about razor sharp sails on the windmill (damn I can't remember what the things are called: mind's gone blank(er) - you know, the things that go round and make an X) and have them spraying blood everywhere, and have it also dripping down the sides of the, um, whatever the damn body is called?*

* I am no expert on windmills

That's a really neat idea though. Reminds me of my old housemate who had a Hieronymus Bosch monster as a tattoo. It's the opposite with me when it comes to drawing,, I can't do cute. When I was a kid my sister used to draw the princesses and horses and then I filled in the knights and bloodshed lol

Over the past couple of years I have started to develop allergies to...something that absolutely butt**** me and they are totally unpredictable. I had no allergies of any kind throughout my entire life up until my mid-20's. My family always had cats growing up so I really don't think it's that but it's possible. Sometimes I'll go weeks without symptoms, other times the symptoms will happen every day for weeks straight. The symptoms are watery eyes alongside pretty much nonstop sneezing, and even when I'm not actually sneezing I still feel like a sneeze could come at any moment. It is extremely debilitating, I pretty much cannot function when this **** is happening.

I've tried almost every over-the-counter medication you can find. The ONLY thing that works is benadryl, and specifically Children's benadryl does the trick, and it magically seems to work within 30 minutes or so every time. The problem is that when I take this stuff it ****s with my brain. I feel foggy and groggy and weird for several hours whenever I take it. So I'm left with the decision to either deal with the literal misery of suffering with the symptoms or I take the benadryl and feel like I'm damaging my brain or something.

I called an allergy specialist in town to get a quote on what it might cost to get tested. The tests alone cost over $1,000. And who knows how much the actual treatment afterward will cost. And on top of that who knows if the treatment will actually be effective?!?! I don't know how I can possibly commit that much money to something when I have no idea if it will even help. But I also feel like I have no choice, my quality of life has deteriorated significantly as a result of the allergies.

**** ****ing sucks. **** America's health care system especially

I use allegra. It's not as immediate as benadryl and works best after taking it for a couple of days in a row, after that it's hard to beat. idk what your living space is like but probably a good idea to give that a deep clean for lingering allergens or potentially mold.

I will never ever understand why we put up with this bull****.

It’s been a terrible problem that I first became aware of when I was 18. Every year it’s gotten worse. Every country I’ve ever been to, even third world countries, do a better job. I don’t care how much of a fringe extremist I come off as, America has the worst health care system in the world. It’s not the worst health care but it is the absolute worst system. At least poor countries ****ing try. If political avenues can change it then why has it been on the American political stage my entire life and only gotten worse? We have to decide we’re not accepting it and resort to any means necessary to fix it. You’re talking about allergies but what about when you age and it’s heart disease, back problems, cancer - everybody, in fact every living organism, will eventually get sick and die and they use the inevitable to break us financially. It’s obscene and warrants a violent response if that’s what it takes.

I had the same experience, no allergies ever all my life (ok except for bees) and then suddenly in my mid-20s BAM debilitating eye-watery, constant congestion causing allergies. Claritin works for me, but like Frown said, it's best when used routinely. Also, get an air purifier if you don't already have one.

Otherwise I'm a big beeliever in taking a teaspoon of locally pollinated honey every morning.

Do you happen to drink a lot of red wine?

Add me to the "mid 20's allergy startup" club. They always seem to ruin something nice too. For years I would get them before major party time. Fourth of July? Allergies. Memorial Day? Allergies. Girlfriends b-day vacation? Allergies. I think I've narrowed it down to ragweed and the trees sploogin pollen all over the place. It's funny because I didn't get Covid when Dana had it in our small ass apartment but f*cking ragweed turns me into a shell of a person.

Benydrl and taking a shower to wash off any and every speck of dirt on my face usually helps. So does committing hari-kari but I haven't tried the last one yet. In due time...

Lol I've had miserable allergies my whole life and just learned to coexist but maybe cause of global warming it doesn't seem to be happening anymore. Suck my dick, tourists.
