crukster 04-08-2011 01:24 PM

My username comes from a song by Giles, Giles and Fripp, from the Cheerful Insanity. The Crukster. I used it on a play through of medabots and thought it was pretty cool so I signed up with it here.

These are the lyrics.

There is no shelter.

There is no shelter for eyes that see, troubled, stumbling to be, but condemned.

For to realize and suffer, that is the penalty for you, me.
No sound can open their eyes, nor vision bring reality to gloom, darkness.

But don't sit at ease. Though the day is cold, the searing gap may weld.
And once again, while dew is wet, a bright color will cover that pain til silence is set.

And then once again, you can hear Hell's heat.

My avatar is some picture of a random kid with a cape off google images.

Everytime I see your avatar I have to laugh because that kid is owning that cape.

He just looks so badass.

GeddyBass2112 04-08-2011 01:29 PM

Name: I play the bass and I like the band Rush, so I chose Geddy (as in Geddy Lee, Rush's bassist/singer),Bass (because I like bass!) and 2112 as it's a Rush album.

Avatar: Alex Lifeson in the early 80s.

lmao that's what I thought when I saw it on google images, and I thought "man, this sums up my internet persona perfectly." :thumb:

Is it meant to be Zarko or Žarko? It looks like a Slavic name.

Rage Against the Machine 04-08-2011 05:05 PM

I was 13 and uncreative. I feel I should release my inner music snob and get it changed but fuck it.... I still like RATM.

It's always been a flat 'Zarko' to me, but that may have changed down the line.

Ukrainian heritage, so pretty East Slavic :p:

pooka 04-08-2011 09:38 PM

pooka is an irish mystical black pony that tricks bad children into sitting on it. they become magically stuck and he drowns them in the sea.

Buzzov*en 04-08-2011 09:39 PM

Mine is one of my favorite bands.

Wayfarer 04-08-2011 10:53 PM

Name: I can't remember where I heard the word, but I thought it sounded cool at the time.... that's about all there is to my screen name, lol. I've considered changing it, but meh.

Avatar: back cover of "Bitches Brew" by Miles Davis, which is one of my favourite albums.

User title: Simplified Chinese character for "zen".

Kaimon 04-08-2011 11:03 PM

Character name for a story I wrote in 3rd grade that I now use a lot online. I dunno why, but it's the only username that really stuck with me.

Paedantic Basterd 11-13-2011 10:49 AM

I just thought it would be funny to call myself pedestrian and act like a ponce. At the same time, it acted as an excuse for my music taste.

Ska Lagos Jew Sun Ra 11-13-2011 11:01 AM

Used to be Skaligojurah... split it up into random words.

DoctorSoft 11-13-2011 11:04 AM

Doctor soft is a nickname a friend of mine had because he always played the "nice guy" with girls

s_k 11-13-2011 03:04 PM

Hey :D

sonar1 11-15-2011 11:47 AM

I needed six characters, one of which had to be a number, as a password to hack into your bank account from here in prison.

Necromancer 11-15-2011 12:11 PM

Mine is from the title of a single on Rush's album Caress Of Steel.

I actually had a member here at MB that was pissed off at me (for some odd reason:rolleyes:) a while back state, that "I was an asshole who thinks that he is some kind of Wizard"!

I have to say..that I am very pleased with my current screen name.

Blarobbarg 11-15-2011 03:51 PM

Mine is weird.
It started when I was a little kid and a friend named an action figure "Blarg." His catchphrase was his own name. Being a little kid, that was simply hilarious.
When I discovered the internet I used Blarg as my screen name for everything. Then I tried to make a character on an MMORPG whose name was Blarg, but someone else already had it. So I named him Blargenwargen. I used that for everything for a good while... then I tired of it and modified it to Blarobbarg. And that is the long, boring story of my screen name.

My avatar is because I always liked the anime movie Totoro. And it's cute. >_>

NSW 11-15-2011 04:31 PM

My husband likes to call me nonsubmissive when we are playing video games, because I kill him alot. So I started using it as my online mutliplayer screen name, and then for other stuff.

Sheesh, you'd think most guys would just be happy their wife was playing Halo with them.

s_k 11-15-2011 04:39 PM

I don't even play halo myself, but I'd love to have a girlfriend that likes computergames, indeed! Not because I'm that much of a gamer myself, but because when I do play games with friends, it's so much fun that I'd love to share it with my loved one, obviously :D

Get yourself a gamecube (they're dirt cheap her now as they're considered 'old' but not 'vintage, yet) and play mario party with her. It's really a lot of fun ;)

s_k 11-16-2011 04:42 AM

yeah, they are compilations of such on sale

but i don't own a Wii - there's a shopping mall in the town where she lives where you can perpetually play it for free

s_k 11-16-2011 04:50 AM

Hahaha, that would be considered quite pathetic here :)
Why don't you buy one?

i don't see the point, the graphics are only slightly better than my PS2

and the motion controller is very tiring for a hardcore gamer

i'm getting a 360 soon

s_k 11-16-2011 04:56 AM

You can play games with your girl that are actually fun
Believe me, it works. It really does ;).
I don't have a Wii myself but my ex-girlfriend did and it was pretty epic.
I have a PS3 myself, and a Gamecube, PS2, Xboxand probably every other console that was ever made before that. Including the Saturn, Dreamcast and Atari Jaguar.
But I'll get a Wii sometime. Not for the motion sensor, but for Mario party and, most of all, Mario Galaxy. It's epic.
I'm just waiting for it to go dirt cheap. I don'd mind playing 4 year old games :)

Howard the Duck 11-16-2011 05:09 AM

^^we already do a lot of other things together

s_k 11-16-2011 05:27 AM
