As far as those phones go, I'd definitely say I don't miss them. The idea of having to let the dial run all the way around if you were dialling a "later" or "bigger" number (1,2,3 was ok but if it was 7,8,9 or 0, well) was annoying, and there was no real way to hurry it up. Given that our emergency call is 999, you can imagine the seconds wasted trying to dial this number. On the plus side, it was kind of hard to dial the wrong number, as you were quite sure what number you were spinning the dial to, mostly, whereas with a touch tone you can easily hit the wrong one.

Oh, and you couldn't text on them.

Oh yeah, the twirly cord that gets tangled and twisted and caught on things and impossible to straighten out, so that when you pull the phone receiver to its full length (eg looking for a pen to write down a number) it springs back like it's alive and tries to take you with it!

Yeah, I really miss that.

And especially when you're the kind of person who can't stand for the cord to twisted wrong so you gotta retwist it right and it takes a good thirty seconds.
