Spree killing has been around forever. People snap over a short period of time and then try to take out as many people as they can before committing suicide or death by cop.

I find serial killers much more fascinating because they murder usually one at a time and then go weeks until they do it again. A completely different kind of brain disorder.

Bundy was in between the two. He could kill one and then be normal for a few weeks. And then on two occasions his murder lust took him over. Early on he once lured and killed two women from the same lakeside area in the same day.

And then right before he was caught he went totally psycho that night in Florida, killing 5 women at two different sorority houses in the course of only a couple of hours.

I guess technically, but I don't really consider him in the same category as Bundy or Gacy.
