Damn, I missed the baby kicking ceremony last night. I'll drop my two cents anyways

Making any kind of decision involving yourself is inherently selfish, this situation is no different. Whether the decision you make is based on how you want to spend your time or how it matches up to society's expectations of you, the reasoning is still centred around yourself. That said, I don't think that selfishness is amoral. I guess you could say that having a child opens yourself up to being less moral because you could potentially ruin a life that would have never occurred, but that doesn't make either side more superior than the other tbh.

I'd say that's one cent at best.

Well it's what makes cents to me.

No such thing as altruism. Fine

Let's try a few syllogisms

Overpopulation is a problem
Breeding adds to the total population
People who breed make the problem worse

Losers shouldn't make babies
Forum member x is a loser
Forum member x should never have made a baby

Real Zeppelin fans understand their origins
Forum member x does not understand Zeppelin's origins
Forum member x is not a real Zeppelin fan

A real man provides for his family
Forum member x doesn't
Forum member x isn't a real man

Not directed at anyone in particular

I think we can curb overpopulation by training our children to become killers. If each child took out two people as its first assignment then used the rest of their skills for self defense, it will both ween out the weak and leave more air and food for the rest of us.

Yeah course hasn't everyone? I have a cat now and I had a dog who died when he was about 16/17 and I was 19 so knew it all my life. A great pet, and yeah I was upset. But it's a pet. It's not like losing a family member unless you aren't close to your family or we are talking some distant relative you don't even speak to.

IMO of course.
