I don't even think Jaws ever had an effect on me as far as creepy things in the water. Creepshow 1 and 2 did that for me though. Yeah, Jaws was never a suspense movie that held up over time. If you saw it at the time, it was the first big blockbuster movie (I think) and certainly the first shark one, so it was a big deal. As more and more came onstream, it lost its impact. But it's still the original and so the king. The big moment in the movie is I think where you see the shark fully for the first time. There's no music, nothing to alert you, comes right out of the blue. Go clean out your underwear. It's that much of a shock. But only the once.
