If the milk thing is meant to be an analogy for home made mask then they're actually telling us to put milk on our skin if we can't find sunscreen now.

The analogy is exclusively meant to address the concept of masks directly protecting you from the virus being somewhat true yet not nearly as helpful as OH is making it out to be, but you guys go ahead and read whatever you'd like into it.

Everyone here already has n95 masks stocked up in preparation for the next fire. Local officials approached it more as an anti-hoarding thing than trying to convince the public masks aren't helpful. Like "if you have masks, great, wear them if you want but don't go buy more."
