This means there's an endless amount of viruses still in circulation which makes it inevitable that new mutations will arise, presenting a never-ending source of new challenges.

The protection provided by the current generation of vaccines quickly wanes in the months following the shots. My current guess is that we're gonna have to keep some measures in place for a long ass time and probably get yearly vaccine doses for the next X number of years. We might be looking at double digits.

My guess is we'll be taking an annual covid shot much like we're taking the flu shot now.

Boy are they going to be in for a shock

Florida radio host Marc Bernier, 65, who called himself 'Mr Anti-Vax' becomes third broadcaster to die from Covid-19 after publicly criticising vaccine

Quote:
The death of Mr Barnier follows those of Dick Farrel on August 4 and Phil Valentine last week - both of whom were also conservative radio hosts who questioned and criticised the coronavirus vaccine.

One of them, Dick Farrel, I worked with for a bit. I liked him personally, and I'm grateful that he helped me in a number of ways, but he had some pretty crazy views. He was a huge Rush Limbaugh fan.

Silver lining, I suppose.

Yeah, I've predicted that as a likelihood since the beginning. The virus can obviously mutate easily enough that different strains are likely to keep going to keep going around a la the flu.

I've never had a flu shot either.

But you better believe I'll keep getting the covid shots as needed.

Mississippi Burning?

I get the flu shot every year FYI. Have to, for Karen. It's nothing, and it's free too, so if I have to get a Covid booster every year, so what?
