I'm sorry to hear you've been so unlucky, Frownland: getting covid twice, with the second one being so severe. I know from past experience that fainting is most unpleasant - mainly the minutes before when you feel all strength and energy draining out of your body

Hope you improve quickly now, and take care with protections. Here where I live everyone wears a mask in public buildings & transport, the obligations being set by the companies, I believe, with a foot-operated gel dispenser at most entrances. Pedestrians and car drivers, maybe 80% of people are masked.

Allegedly, though it may have been an excuse for that person (a colleague of mine) to stay in her Paris apartment for the summer and do the conference she was due to attend via Zoom. We'll never know.
