How Often Do You Mention Music Banter IRL
 

I was curious how often (if ever) you mention MusicBanter in real life.

Do you tell your friends about MB or do you keep it a guarded secret?
Have you ever convinced any of your friends or family to join MB?
How many people know that you're a member?

I went for 'Rarely'. When I was younger, I probably talked about it more frequently with friends. But now, it's one of my most closely guarded secrets. Only my brother is peripherally aware that I spend time on 'some outdated music forum'. This place is my digital coven.

Do you honestly think I want people IRL reading what I post?

I wouldn’t really want to endorse this site IRL as a music resource without a bunch of disclaimers about the endemic trolls and toxic **** posting.

Lol it seems like I'm the only one who mentions this site more than just on occassion...

My old bandmates know I'm a member as well as new bandmates and a few other people in my IRL music circles.

My ex thinks I'm racist because I have similar music taste to OH.

I have also mentioned it to 1-2 friends and my grandma at some point.

My family and some of my friends know about it. I don't try to keep it a secret and just talk about it whenever it comes up. With my friends that rarely happens, with my family it happens quite often when I stay with them

My wall is covered with pictures of you guys that I printed.

And I even have a picture of Horus for OH.

Once I started meeting people from musicbanter.com in real life I became a lot less self conscious of people knowing I use the internet socially.

I mentioned this site to three friends, within my first two or three years here, but I haven't bothered to mention it to anyone else since then.

.... but posting on MB is about the most cutting-edge thing I'm involved in :(

I have MB listed under "Technical Skills" on my resume.

I also mention MB to the GF once in a while. She still wonders wtf I still get on here, but what she doesn't know is that I'm a closet masochist. So, there's that.
