Im active on city-data and they have the image resizing thingy, Like if you post a large image; it will resize to fit the screen. Its still a big photo but you just click to make bigger.
Sucks we dont have a reputation points system like theirs too, that would be interesting. |
Those are vBulletin functions that were never implemented here. They have those on another site I frequent. The rep thing can be abused very easily, but the photo auto-resizing is worth every penny.

Lack of mobile / tablet optimization annoys me the most, like the lack of support for modern emojis, buttons for italics etc. often being tiny and often having to type BBCodes manually.. which is fine on a keyboard, but not on my phone.

Never enough people online to pay attention to me

What about that new system that was to be implemented, where members paid for the privilege of talking to and admiring you? What was it?

He was the one who was extremely condescending about what music people listened to. He said stuff along the lines of the future is bleak because today's generation only listens to pop and top 40 and whatever the 'algorithm' recommends them and they're completely brainwashed and how dare they enjoy music I don't find appealing, bla bla bla Quote:

*Batman TV show voice-over intro*
"Another beautiful Sunday morning in downtown Gotham City. But, wait... What's this?... Posters plastered all over town accusing Commissioner Gordon of running a corrupt, racist administration?... The police force and Chief O'hara accused of police brutality and targeting people of color?... Bruce Wayne accused of benefitting from slavery and white privilege?... Batman and Robin accused of white supremacy and vigilantism?... Stay tuned... the worst is yet to come!"... |
Stay mad.

There's one particular bug on MB which has always irked me.
1. View any thread 2. Click Search this Thread 3. Enter any value in the field that appears and click Go button Page then displays Database error pictured below for address "https://www.musicbanter.com/search.php?do=process" https://i.imgur.com/60adanw.jpg Similarly, clicking the Advance Search link and entering any keyword(s) in Keyword field and cliking the Search Now button returns the same error. Note: Searching by User Name works here but returns the database error if any value is entered in the Keyword field. I've tried multiple browsers, clearing cache and cookies for all time, rebooting, and every other permutation of "turning it off and on again." The issue has persisted for as long as I've been a member of MB (since 2015). The work-around I've found is to go to Google and to enter the desired search term with "site:musicbanter.com" before the query. That does the job for now. I then tried searching site:musicbanter.com from Google and looking for prior discussions of "search" and "database error" and found a thread from 2017-2020 where TH and others reported the issue. There, Plankton demonstrated that performing an advanced search from the main page appears to work, and he also suggested the Google "site:musicbanter.com" workaround that I'd been using. Both those methods still require the user to manually dig through every page of the resulting threads so it's still a pain. Maybe one day it will be fixed. But I won't hold my breath. |
