Papa Roach - Last Resort - Lyrics Meaning

Last Resort was released in

This song is more a plea for help rather than a song about suicide. The singer has finally hit the point where he doesn't care if he lives or dies and is wondering if suicide is the answer. He asks repeatedly for someone to "tell him he's fine". He knows that he is on a downward spiral since the death of his mother. Mothers are frequently the ones to comfort their children, no matter how old they are, so the singer is feeling lonely and needs guidance. It sounds as if the singer is a famous person, such as a musician or an actor. He has found himself stretched to the limit and is feeling a lot of pressure. He is not happy with the way he is living and life is really getting to him. He is unable to love anyone, including himself. At the end of the second verse, we find that the singer is seeking love on a higher level, possibly a search for God or another higher power. He is unable to find what he is looking for and is only becoming more confused and frustrated with his struggles.
