Just finished Cat's Cradle and Fight Club. LOVED Cat's Cradle, but I was a bit let down by Fight Club. The movie is my favourite movie of all time, but I found it hard to enjoy. Although I was sick and I have a hard time enjoying anything when I'm sick. I'll probably give it another go in a while.

I read both of those awhile back, too. I have kind of given up on reading anymore of Chuck Palahniuk's work. Mr. Vonnegut, however, I can never get enough of it. Read anything else by him?

I have just finished reading 'and the ass saw the angel' by nick cave - very good book, dark, provoking and a bit bizzare! I recommend.

I don't think I'm going to finish it, but I felt like reading the book given to my brother in his marketing class, to write a paper on.
Surprisingly, reading about the Canadian beer's failure in business, can be interesting. Unfortunately, that book has put in the mood for some Canadian beer, which won't be easy to find in Lebanon.

You're not missing much, Molson Canadian is like the Budweiser of Canadian beers. That actually looks really interesting... care to put it up in the P.I.F. bookclub once you're done?

It's my brother's, and he's going back to Canada next week :/

Lame... I suppose I could always return that Wraith: The Oblivion Player's Guide to the library, pay my fine, and see if they have it there..

I haven't given up on him yet, as right now I'm reading Lullaby, which so far, I'm enjoying MUCH more than Fight Club. No, I haven't read anymore Vonnegut. What of his would you reccomend?

Does manga count?

if so, then what i've mainly been reading is

20th Century Boys (my favorite manga right now, so many twists and turns. definately reccomend it)

Veritas (the main character's such an asshole, but he's just so likable, haha. also, a bit of fanservice here and there, but nothing that
takes away from the story.)

One Piece (i can definately see why it's so popular and great to everyone, but sometimes certain parts seem to slow down for me or be hard to follow. not
saying it's bad, just that i'm not too convinced by all the hype)

Eyeshield 21 (i've only read the first few chapters, but so far i think it's great. hilarious and exciting when it needs to be. never thought a manga about football could be so good.)

Toriko (the title character kills a crcodile the size of a city block with only his two hands, both of which he names "fork" and "knife". that should give you and idea of how awesome this is.)

and for Global Politics class i've been reading the book Dark Continent. it's basically about what led Europe into WWII politically, financially and socially, and the condition they were in after the war had ended. a really informative and eye opening book, but it just throws so many facts at you, and alot of these facts almost never get touched upon again after being mentioned. still, worth a read for anyone who'd like to know more about these things.

kind of a downer for me though is how i'm going to have to present a chapter of the book in front of the entire class, the last chapter too. :(

Glue by Irvine Welsh and im very into it really smart how he has built up such a contrast between the characters and the differant time periods were a really smart idea got reading it through the author as Trainspotting is my favourite film and book ever.
