I've only just started my first read but I've heard good things! Glad to hear that you enjoyed it, too :)

Eh, with all the hullabaloo surrounding the movie, I kinda got in the mood to read the book. Never seen the movie and I really don't care to, but this is obviously a great piece of American literature.

Which did you read first? I have a theory about the order in which you read them somehow determining favorites. So far I haven't been wrong  Not to say your connection to Patty isn't valid, of course, it's just an interesting thing I've noticed.

I'm currently reading a ****load of different things but today specifically I'm reading

Oh DAMNIT MY LIFE IS RUINED. Really though I did love Freedom and Patty especially but Corrections gave me more feels.

Got about half way through this and then just stopped reading:

I really liked the self-deprecating humor in the first few chapters, but as the book goes on it gets more and more into his personal philosophy/theology and there are more and more theological/philosophical references. It becomes a rather difficult and tedious read. I found myself turning to google more and more as the chapters went on. Maybe I'll pick it up again someday. I was hoping for more of a storyline, honestly.

I recently started rereading this:

Probably my favorite book by him. Even better on a second read. If they had us read this type of stuff in high school I would've taken up reading sooner.

Nick Hornby - About a Boy

Definitely glad I didn't ruin this for myself by drilling Hugh Grant into my head before I read it. A very funny, very relatable read. 4/5

I couldn't relate as well to characters in the Corrections, although I did like it a lot, Gary was my favourite character in the book, his struggle with depression was artfully done and very true to life. And the sister? I forget her name right now but she was pretty awesome. I hated Chip though.

I could relate to Patty a lot with her relationship with Walter & her fascination with Richard Katz, I've been there way too many times myself.

I looooved About A Boy, I'm not as fond of his other books as I was About A Boy but it gave me a tonne of feels.

I'm reading this:

I've had a few false starts with other books but I was hooked after the first page, her prose is so beautiful and musical it makes for a really easy read.
