I'd say it was something of a blunder.

No, it was interesting within the first couple pages, but it's not very well written and has some serious cheese at times.. It's your typical dystopian, high tech society novel for YAs. I might try reading one of the more classic sci-fi novels when I finish the trilogy.

Try Asimov's Foundation trilogy. It's the ****.

Susan Sontag - Against Interpretation (essay collection)

Finally got my hands on this one. I'm almost through the first two essays, "Against Interpretation" and "On Style" and it's some pretty interesting stuff. Not hard to read either. Thankfully, she's written a fair amount of non-fiction like this, so I know what I'm going to be reading up through 2018.

Just finished Flowers in the Attic

Sold like 40 M in the 80s

Pretty creep

And realistic too - reminded me a lot of that weird “school” where the parents had the kids trapped.

I found it more disturbing that the newer southern noir I’ve read.

I'll look into it. Tx, and Thanks Batlord.

I'm currently half way through the second book of the trilogy, and still enjoying myself. It's terribly predictable, but I'm really enjoying the story and main character. Would recommend.

I ended up buying the omnibus version instead of the two remaining books, so now it just kinda feels like one big adventure. I wish more trilogies offered omnibus versions, I quite like it.
