Right now I am reading a forum thread entitled "What are you reading right now?".

And I'm collecting the LOTR card game. I have got Tolkien lore shooting out of every orifice at this point.

Hell yes. I didn't even know there was that much LOTR material. Immersing yourself in an obsession like that is great, atm I feel like doing the same with Buffy

Oh there is a stupid amount of books that are mostly academic collections of notes on lore. Like elves can only marry once. By decree of the gods. Unless your spouse dies and agrees to your marriage from the afterlife. Because once their spouse remarries they can't reincarnate. Because... Tolkien was a weird Catholic.

"What Is to Be Done: political engagement and saving the planet" by Barry Jones

Australians will need no introduction to Barry Jones. For the benefit of other members: he is one of Australia's most well known academics, with a mind that seems to forget nothing.

The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe

^^Oh God I found it so tiresome. A great document of the era and of that particular type of people, but boy oh boy, I would not have liked to be around them. Very immersive though.

Oh, really? I find it fascinating, not tiresome at all.

I just love Wolfe's writing flow and – oh boy, oh boy – I'd love to be a part of that experience (so I guess I might be a bit biased towards the entire thing); maybe apart from the Hell's Angels stuff (I have no idea why would all these hippies and beatniks, and all want to spend time with these guys).
