All I know of is the Secret History, which is about a bunch of Greek students who try to live like the people they studied

Joan Didion, Vintage Didion

A collection of essays by essayist Joan Didion. Right now I'm in the section on corruption in Miami and connections between America and Cuba. So far so good. Picked it up for $2.00 at my local used bookstore.

A friend of mine who actually let me borrow Speaker said the same thing. Apparently Xenocide is quite underwhelming as well. Although I've only heard great things about Shadow. I might just do that.

Following up on:

Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson

One word. EPIC. Awesome fantasy novel (I don't usually read fantasy). I was talked in to reading this by a co-worker who seems to know his books quite well. It's amazing. It left little to be desired and made me want to slap myself for dismissing fantasy for so long.

Prayers for Rain by Dennis Lehane

As you know, I'm a LeHane fanboy, so I doubt I will have much bad to say about this one. More to come...

Shadow is almost an equal book as Ender's Game....esp if you really liked Bean as a character
