I'm intrigued, bob. What are those about?

Sweet Tooth is a 40 comic or 5 graphic novel series that is set in a kind of post sickness apocalypse and is centered around hybrid children....as in half animal and half man.....the main character is Gus aka Sweet tooth (he loves candy bars) a hybrid deer who holds the answers to the sickness that is killing off mankind.....just an interesting take on dystopian post apocalypse with great good guys and vicious bad guys

this series really resurrected my interest in graphic novels....an amazingly entertaining story with great characters....my personal favorite being Bobby (ironically) half human half groundhog

the other one i literally just stared reading....again it was suggested and it's by the same author/artist.....so far it seems to me to be a straight op revenge type of deal.....with very original art work

also just wanted to comment that as far as novels go....i'm in the middle of the "His Dark Materials" series but when i'm done i already bought and am salivating over John Dies At The End due to your and Pete discussion

haven't seen the movie yet and figure i'll wait a bit

Those comics sound really interesting, especially Sweet Tooth. I may have to check that out. Like you, my interest in graphic novels has kind of waned in the past few years, but I do like them.

You'll have to let me know what you think of John Dies at the End. I'm about a third of the way through it so far and enjoying it, I do hope the third act of the book is better than the third act of the move though. That's not really to knock the movie either, I loved it and would highly recommend it, especially if you liked Bubba Ho-Tep. It's just I felt like it kind of flew off the rails in the end.

Just read Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. As far as recent Pulitzer winners go, Junot Diaz's The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao is the superior book...but this one isn't too shabby.

Also finally got my grandmother to read Neil Gaiman. She was all, "Why didn't you tell me his books were this good?!" and I was all, "I did?"

Which book did she read? If she hasn't read Good Omens you should get her to read that, it's hilarious.
