Oh, RIGHT-TRACK, now I've started reading 'The Wasp Factory'. You were right, 'tis mighty good and quite the oddity.

Yeah, I read The Wasp Factory a while back, that was a really good though thoroughly fucked up book.

Right nooowww I am reading Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs - Klosterman, a little late I'll admit... but I finished Killing Yourself to Live not too long ago. Concurrently, I am reading Rock of Ages: The Rolling Stone History of Rock & Roll, and as soon as I am finished with the Klosterman novel I'll start on Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep - a book by Philip K. D!ck, who you might know as the author of A Scanner Darkly, and Blade Runner.

Philip K. Dick is one of my favorite authors, I only just finished Ubik, which is probably my favorite of his as of right now. Also, it might be worth noting that he didn't actually write a book called Blade Runner, but that Blade Runner is an adaptation of Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep.

And I'm about to start on Camus' The Fall. I've been wondering whether or not that's where the band got their name, that would be pretty cool, Camus is probably my favorite author.

I read that this summer for Sewanee, if you like philosophical books aka is life worth it, meaning of it all, ect., it is worth it. I would be extremely surprised if The Fall did not get their name from that book, it could be a reference to the bible though.

Speaking of bands borrowing from Camus...The Cure pulled the idea for killing an Arab from a scene in his most famous novel: The Stranger. The title for their singles collection (Staring at the Sea) was also inspired by that book.

Yeah, The Stranger is probably my favorite novel. One of The Cure's best songs too.

I've read parts of The Rebel, it's pretty freakin' dense. I'm going to read The Myth of Sisyphus as soon as my friend is done with it.

Yes it is , but it wasn`t Mark E Smith that came up with it. It was their original bass player Tony Friel that came up with it. He wanted to use another Camus novel 'The Outsiders' as the bands name but it was already being used by another band so he used 'The Fall'.

That's pretty awesome. I was actually thinking that "The Strangers" would be a cool band name, which is just a different translation of the same book as "The Outsider" (L'Etranger).
