Skip "Oblivion" & "A Place Beyond the Pines"

In theaters -watch The Great Gatsby, Iron man 3

Watch- "I give it a year" and "7 Psychopaths" for comedy
"Chained"- for horror
"Arbitrage" and "Drive" for thriller/Suspense
Thin Ice

Does anyone have any recommendations to films similar to Zbigniew Rybczynski's work? I love his strange style.

Wait, you're saying to skip A Place Beyond the Pines but that The Great Gatsby and Iron Man 3 are good to watch? I'm missing something here...

He's clearly confused... besides Robert Redford and Jack Nicholson look MUCH better in 1920s suits than DiCaprio

I rented it on itunes, but the sound won't work ;( and the rental expires in 5 hours. Does anyone know WTH is wrong with it?

Yes. A Place Beyond the Pines & Oblivion were bad. Oblivion b/c it was predictable as **** and it became a cliche of all sci-fi films and A Place Beyond the Pines b/c the plot was complete trash and the story felt incomplete and dragged.

Oblivion was good from cinematography stand point but I wish the first half was shorter and they made the second part of longer. The plot twist in the middle was a nice idea instead of leaving it for the end but they rushed the second half.

The Hour of the Wolf is well worth your while. It's older, but it's Bergman, and it's my actual favorite of his films - although from a cinephile standpoint, most would argue that Wild Strawberries and The Seventh Seal are both "technically" better. The darkness of HotW, though, the internal struggle of the main character, by Max von Sydow perfectly portrayed, and the experimentation with interesting shots and subject matter...wondrous.

For something completely different: If you've ever been amused by a "stoner" comedy and not seen Smiley Face, starring Anna Faris, you're missing out. Essentially, Jane, portrayed by Faris, gets incredibly stoned and attempts to go about essential tasks she must perform throughout the day, with worst case scenario consequences around every corner. Hilarity ensues. Check it out. Also - Jim from the Office, Jane Lynch, the guidance counselor from Glee, Brian Posehn, John Cho, Danny Trejo, and Danny Masterson all have roles in this flick.
