I watched this indie film with my mom last night called December Ends. Anyone else seen it? It was pretty dark, but a good watch.

I loved this movie. I read about the actual Frank Lucas before I'd seen it, actually saw him on some History Chanel documentary called "American Gangster" (it's a weekly special I think, about different crime-figures every week) before I'd saw the movie - so was quite stoked when it finally came out. I think Richie Roberts was my favorite character, Russel Crowe added much complexity to him. The other characters were very powerful, but I feel as if they're personalities weren't as well-developed as Crowe's. Though I wasn't really dissapointed in the film, I thought it was quite boss.

Last film I seen was,

Borrowed it from my boyfriend... greeeeeeeat movie. The plot would've been unoriginal, had the unique style of the film & the actors' powerful performances not shone through as they did. The soundtrack is awesome as well. Though not saying much for the instrumental scores. Was suprised to see some excellent work from Ricci, although the ending dissapointed me profously (as the movie kind of mirrored my life in a way, and the ending was impersonal to me). Ricci's character possess great substance, attributed to the character by Xtina herself. I wonder if Ricci ever did a one-on-one with Wurtzel (sp?) herself?

I saw this maybe 6 or so months ago, I thought it was one of the better movies i've seen in a while (since then I kinda had forgotten about it till now though), you should look at Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter...and Spring, by Kim, you're either going to love it or hate it, it's a very polarizing movie.

Weirdly enough, it didn't do much for me either.

Despite it's real time scenario, the cameraman seems to be editing the footage on the fly as we have cuts that should not even exist. Lastly: notice to cameraman. DROP THE FUCKING THING. You can run quicker without it.

To be fair, the F/X were well done and the concept is a good one-just poorly executed.
Did you like the music soundtrack to that movie?

Yea, I definately have tried reading that book before and it did very little for me, at least the 20 odd pages I got through before picking up something else. It's still on my bedside table at home, waiting to be read....

Daniel Day Lewis is simply astonishing and despite the languid pace it's a film that demands to be seen. A fascinating snapshot of late 19th/early 20th century america.
