I still haven't seen A Serious Man but based on what I've read about it, no. Barton Fink doesn't really remind me of any of their other movies, though it's certainly very Coen-ish. It's a very weird, dark movie with some of the most frightening and disturbing moments out of any of their movies but it's also fairly funny in places.

What are the other Coen brothers movies you haven't seen?

I'll get round to watching them soon, though I have a fair few films lined up and ready to watch. I don't think I've not enjoyed a Coen film, except for maybe Ladykillers.. so Barton Fink and Raising Arizona should be great.

I haven't seen - Intolerable Cruelty (But I don't plan on watching it.), The Hudsucker Proxy, Barton Fink, Raising Arizona and Blood Simple.

Why don't you plan on watching Intolerable Cruelty? It's far from their best but it's worth seeing, and it's a hell of a lot better than Hudsucker Proxy.

Raising Arizona and Blood Simple are both great, though they basically represent the two extremes of the Coen brothers style.

Curious to know Jans what your favorite movies are. I know theres a thread for that but I'm too lazy to wade through it and find your comments.

Rom-Com, not really my thing. Maybe I'll get round to watching it, but it's not on my list of things to do. I'll end up watching it, just so I can say I've seen their entire filmography. I imagine it is what it is, a fun enough film.

I might watch Raising Arizona tomorrow night.

^ It's actually good. At least being an awkward douche is part of Pattinson's character this time...and a very nice soundtrack to go with it all.

As for Vanilla Sky, I liked it, although I had to watch it a couple of times before actually understood it. It's an okay movie from Cameron Crowe but I still prefer his other stuff like Jerry Maguire or Almost Famous over this one.
