Yes but u did compare them. So by your own admission the comparison is flawed. You are from Manchester and love the music so why not the directors? Ken Loach is as important to local identity as Man U. Perhaps even more so.

Just because Manchester has produced some great bands it helps with your justification but you haven't really delved into other aspects of your city regarding media arts have you?

I'm just saying, from what I have seen Tarantino is better. Though let's not write it in concrete, because there's a hell of a lot of film out there I'm yet to see, things can change.

The music, the football, the local infamous spots (Heaton Park, museums, the big wheel, Salford lads & girls club), film (Danny Boyle, he's from Radcliffe)

I've explored my fair share of City life, but as far as media arts are concerned. There's a lot left to explore, and why not? I'm only 18. I'm glad there's still so much about the City I love I'm yet to find.

I do admit my American cinema knowledge > my own country's.

I just can't think of that many directors who are English who are THAT great. Danny Boyle, Mike Leigh and a few others.

Especially modern day film makers. (Granted, I need to watch some more Ken Loach films.)

But, like I said I think it's a good thing I still have a lot left to discover. There's nothing more refreshing than finding a great British film, sadly it just doesn't happen to me that often.

This movie is pretty ****ing terrible. I thought I would love this, but it's just a mess. Normally I like movies like this but goddamn... what was Lynch thinking?? I couldn't realate to the characters at all, they were lifeless. Mulholland Drive is a mess, but it's a beautiful mess. It has characters you care about and it actually has suspense, something this movie has none of. Do not see it.
