The downtown shootout in Heat has to be one of the best ever action scenes filmed, I think its a great film.

it's not bad

my only gripe with it is its length (nearly 3 hours)

My only gripe with Heat is that it's not a very good movie.

Agreed. Want to watch something similar try 36. Gobsmacking movie with far more intensity.

Very good film. A lot of people said that the plot was very hard to follow but I didn't find any difficulty in it. You just have to pay attention. Gary Oldman was brilliant in it and without seeing the fifth nomination (guy from A Better Life), I can say that George Clooney definitely deserved that Oscar but Gary was nonetheless worthy of a nomination. He said so much with his mannerisms and expressions without using spoken word. The rest of the cast was also very good. Overall a very good spy drama.

8/10

Somebody said that Dominic Cooper should have gotten an oscar nomination for this role. Nah. He was okay but nothing really special. I liked the film but not enough to call it great or enough to watch it again. It was worth the watch though. Good action film. Bit graphic with the violence.

6.5/10

Jason Statham is the same brick of an actor and there wasn't enough De Niro. Like Devil's Double, it wasn't bad and worth a watch but just don't expect anything than a forgettable action movie that will at least kill two hours.

6.5/10

Classic obviously but time has not done this one many favors. It just feels very dated now and it's sequel was much much better. Still a great sci fi classic that can still make me watch it.

7.5/10

Hilarious cult classic. Witty and ahead of it's time if I do say.

8/10

^^^

Withnail and I is nothing short of genius. Killer Elite was a little disappointing and I could talk about The Terminator all night! It certainly looks outdated but I wouldn't change it for the world.

The Devil's Double has been on my 'To Watch' list for a while and I am going to blind buy TTSS when the price comes down.

3 hours!!! Didn't realize it was that long, its obviously so good that time just flies by whilst watching it.

had you ever watched the original tv series?

i honestly think this will not be received well by anyone who was not already a fan of the cult soap opera

which pretty much sucks as the major market will be baby boomers who probably will like the throw outs and the general feel but not the film as a whole

in all honesty this film was destined to fail

I forgot to add that I didn't see the original series and that I'm sure it was more enjoyable for you since you were and are a fan.

I had to double post for this one.

I expected another prison break movie. You know the one. The first half hour describes the kind of prison that they're in and that they need to get out. The next half hour something insane happens that puts the protagonist in a spell that he can't get out of and he and a bunch of mates plan a breakout where they almost get caught like three times, lose a man or two, but eventually get out.

This isn't that film. Fans of Christopher Nolan are going to love the timeline and how the plot progresses. It's got a Memento-esque feel to it. The movie was written for Brain Cox and man does he make those who made that decision proud because he did a fantastic job.

It's on netflix instant I believe so it should be easy to find but you really need to check this out if you want a gritty raw prison escape movie that isn't like every other gritty raw prison escape movie.
