The ending was bull****.
It was ridiculously cheesy and anticlimactic- a killer who comes out of your dream and does serious damage and you defeat him by getting over your fears?
Other than that it was quite lovely.

Yeah but he's not defeated, he's still around to inflict another 8 films worth of cheesy crap. It was the 80's after all!

Having said that Wes Craven's New Nightmare is a damn good film and nicely subversive.


I knew it would be crap but I wanted to watch it so see how bad it would be and it was truly awful. Produced By Rio Ferdinand and Ashley Cole (2 England players) who obviously know fuck all about films and instead of maybe using their status to do something positive and make a film that is relevant or with a positive message they employ 50 cent to do the gangster 'thang' and have a film full of drug dealers, coke, hookers and violence. Easy to guess how they spend their time




The original and the remake in one sitting. Despite being a Romero fan I have never seen the original and the remake is more of a re-imagining (Hollywood loves to find new words to describe their lack of ideas), so what do we get? 2 films that are both flawed but together they could have been something special.

The original is a little too talky with some bad acting and concentrates a little too much on the army's failing in controlling a virus that has hit a small town and not enough on the survivors whereas the remake concentrates TOO much on the survivors and not enough background for those unfamiliar with the original, although the remake is free of general cliches and sentimentality which is refreshing.
