Lol. No i have'nt seen Tideland before, but it looks like another little gem from Gilliam that did'nt suffer from studio interference for a change.

Tideland is awesome. Worth it just to see Jeff Bridges play the dark version of the Dude.

Matador was the first Almodovar movie I ever saw about 15 years ago. It's not like his usual films but it is still a class act. Tesis I have'nt seen but it looks interesting and I know of the director.Lady Vengeance has been on my to buy list for ages.

Hot Fuzz is great but I still prefer Shaun of the Dead. Simon Pegg is a brilliant actor... the Black Books episode which features him as the owner of Goliath Books is great.

Anyway, I haven't recently purchased a movie but one of my flatmates bought a bunch of B grade horrors for a bit of light entertainment. We just watched one of them last night... it was the Corpse Vanishes (1942) featuring Bela Lugosi. It was actually quite a terrible movie about a doctor who kills brides as they're about to be married by giving them orchids as 'gifts'. He then extracts their glandular fluid which he injects into his wife to maintain her youth. Quite slow-moving, pedestrian and boring in general.
