Pacino: best role
 

What was Al Pacino's greatest role ever in a movie?

I would go with Serpico, because, while the old honest man in a dishonest man's world is nothing new, I thought Pacino was completely believable in this role. He has had so many great ones, and I didn't expect to like Serpico, but it's refreshingly honest. Plus, it deals with issues that are totally pertinent today. If you haven't seen this, I strongly recommend you give it a try.

Serpico was good, Dog Day Afternoon, but Scarface for me.

I hate Scarface. One of the most overated films for years.

I agree. He had to portray such a wide range of emotions in that film, and was so convincing in doing so. That performance was just jaw-droppingly good. Scarface is probably my favourite Pacino movie, but his talent as an actor evidences most patently in DDA imo.

Why the fuck did'nt I say The Godfather? his performances in part's one and two are so menacing. Anybody checked out Deniros original auditions for The Godfather? Christ that guy is one serious actor.
