Greatest Comedy Ever maybe.

It's one of the few films that's made my dad cry with laughter. I'd sooner have had a Big Lebowski 2 than the last 3 Coen films...

Appreciated. Easily one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Right up there with FUBAR ! :)

safe. It's the legacy of the Dude aswell... I watched this film quite alot when I first got into weed (have since quit), you're young, impressionable, and it gets you into Captain Beefheart and Bob Dylan. What more d'you want?
So many of the little touches in the brilliantly-acted script have just been absorbed into public consciousness. Great.

My favorite scene of all time.

I personally prefer Withnail & I for slackers and quotable lines. It is pure genius but Lebowski is awesome too.

Withnail & I encapsulates a philosophy, I was definitely making a subconscious effort to live that film at one point.

I love this movie. Has anyone here read I'm a Lebowski, You're a Lebowski and/or gone to Lebowski Fest? I just read the book, and now I really want to go there.

I just recently watched TBL actually, and thought it was an excellent film. I don't think I laughed out loud at any point though...A major down side to both TBL and Withnail is that they have an immense following amongst the retarded college folk which makes me want to dislike them. I think TBL is far superior though...

You're tellin me you didnt laught out loud when the dude traces over the paper and finds what was written down while the guy was on the phone? ahaha.

its when he's at jackie treehorn's,......and then jackie gets on the phone, and writes something down on a pad of paper and then excuses himself from the room, so the dude jumps up and rubs a pencil on the pad to see what jackie had written,......and then he looks at it all crazy like
