Leolo (1992)
Amazing French-Canadian movie from a director who sadly died in a plane crash not long after the movie came out. Imagine a cross between Pan's Labyrinth and The Royal Tenenbaums and you're getting close to what this movie is like. I had the hardest fucking time finding this on DVD. So that, coupled with the fact that it's one of my favorite movies, easily makes it my most treasured. Of course once I finally got my hands on it I started seeing it for sale in stores all over the place but that seems to be the way these thing go.

Yeah, and my mom won't watch it with me. It's always "No, Fatal Attraction" or "No, random Harrison Ford movie"

FaSho 11-26-2008 07:35 PM

Everyone hates on the anime.
I picked up the soundtrack recently, and it's just as good.

No pretty postcards , no flashy gimmick box , no special features or commentaries. Just the greatest TV series ever made , and that'll do me fine.

jackhammer 11-27-2008 05:48 AM

I like the postcards etc but only if they only add genuine value to the overall package.

Lost: Seasons 1-3 (soon to be 4)
Star Wars: The complete collection

Godzilla: The Complete Toho Series

From what I've read on here it sounds like you have a DVD collection which I would much like to raid.

^I love all those movies.

My most treasured is probably my Lord of the Rings special edition box set thing, that adds like an extra 45 minutes to each movie.

http://www.videovista.net/reviews/jan04/amicus2.gif

Amicus was a film studio that tried to take on Hammer films in the 70's by making Horror movies. Cult classics and i'm sure many British members will know at least one of these films:

Dr. Terror's House Of Horror's
....And Now The Screaming Starts
The House That Dripped blood
The Beast Must Die
Asylum

Only 5,000 of these were made.

It's on my list to get though. Brilliant film.

Piss Me Off 12-01-2008 10:02 AM

I treasure my Trainspotting DVD simply because they're so hard to get now.

Akira 12-01-2008 11:02 AM

Not exactly DVDs but I have a nice collection of original movie reels for some classic movies such as the Godfather movies, Casablanca, Taxi Driver etc.

Laces Out Dan! 12-01-2008 11:53 PM

Band of Brothers is a super good series.

My flatmate loves that series... probably especially more so because he's in the Territorials.

I was so shocked by this comment that I just went and looked it up on Amazon. How can a movie that huge be discontinued?!

jackhammer 12-02-2008 12:36 PM

Probably yet another special edition coming out then. I have this one:
Amazon.co.uk: Trainspotting: The Definitive Edition [DTS] [1996]: Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller, Kevin McKidd, Robert Carlyle, Kelly Macdonald, Peter Mullan, James Cosmo, Eileen Nicholas, Susan Vidler, Pauline Lynch, Shirley Henderson

Which is'nt OOP as far as I can tell. The original bare bones release is though.

thegoldlaw 12-02-2008 07:21 PM

A Clockwork Orange, Such a classic
